I am a bit puzzled. Locus is a great app. Tons of features, active and reactive Devs, etc. I paid for the pro version and a couple of maps. But now, it seems I have to paid again to update those map (LoMap), which I don't really understand why, and I discovered there is another app, Locus 4. It eems to be basically the same, but with a subscription model. That means my pro version is useless (except for a one off discount) and we all now that the old one won't receive anymore at some point.

Hi Florian, LoMap updates are charged by a symbolic fee covering only costs of the data storage and maintenance. Locus Map Pro is updated and maintained so why do you think it is useless? Michal, Locus team

*** 2021 update - I am still using Locus maps and haven't gone back! I tried different free and demo applications but this is by far the best and most suitable for my adventure, dual sport and enduro riding. Locus has a ton of settings and functions that will require some time for someone to get the hang on it. Once done, I personally do not need to look any further. I use an android device solely as a dedicated GPS, without a sim card and without internet, and it allows me easily to navigate and record with excellent accurancy. Overall it is a great application with very good support when is needed.

Truly an amazing app. The Lomaps are entirely reasonable in their pricing (and you get 3 when you sign up anyway) and aren't far off Ordnance Survey quality. They contain the names of individual buildings, which you can then (usually) search via POI search. Personalise default screen by long pressing then selecting functions. Or create your own dashboard, such as an almost entirely black (battery saving) bike computer set up. I could go on. Truly an extraordinary app.
